One Sunny Day

I am really getting used to the 3 or 4 days Mark has off each week. It's a pretty sweet deal! This week was a "four day." Unfortunately it rained almost every day! (Is this June or is this February? ) Yesterday we decided to take full advantage of our single sunny day and head to the beach. I love that Capitola is just a short 40 minute trip over the Santa Cruz mountains. Capitola Beach has long been a favorite of ours and we are very grateful be so close.

Now if you know anything about Mark and my trips to Capitola, you know that it just isn't a trip without a cheeseburger. So we first stopped at one of our favorite burger joints:

We then drove along the coast into Capitola's little town (the brown shingle house is one of my all time favorites)

We found a lovely little spot to lay out just past the pier and spent the afternoon being total beach bums. It was wonderful!

Once we made it back home I ended the evening in one of the best ways possible: a glass of merlot and a sewing project (more on that later!)
